Membership dues alone do not cover all the costs of operating our historic Brooklyn building and serving the needs of our congregation and community. That's where you come in, whether you are a member, alum, family, neighbor or supporter of Jewish institutional life.

Sanctuary Preservation
Our home, an historic Renaissance Revival building on Ocean Avenue in Brooklyn is on the National Register of Historic Places. The sanctuary is capped with a magnificent stained-glass dome and 12 three-story-tall stained glass windows, each panel exquisitely depicting one of the original tribes of ancient Israel.
In 2012-13, the East Midwood Jewish Center community embarked on a fundraising campaign to restore stained-glass windows damaged by Tropical Storm Irene and rebuild the gorgeous dome.
Special Gifts & Legacies
Consider making East Midwood Jewish Center a part of your estate and tax plan for a permanent impact on the synagogue and community. Speak with someone from Development to arrange for the synagogue to receive appreciated assets, a charitable trust, gift annuity, life insurance or retirement plan.
Join a Committee
Consider working on a committee to participate in planning our events, keeping up our building, participating in rituals and many other important functions. Email info@emjc.org for more information.
Any questions about giving to EMJC can be directed to Executive Director Wayne Rosenfeld at 718-338-3800 or wrosenfeld@emjc.org.
